ABOUT OUR OUR EDUCATION SERVICES
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) consists of a team of health care professionals who are responsible for and provide prehospital emergency care and transportation to the sick and injured. The individuals who provide the emergency care in the field are trained and must be state-licensed or certified emergency medical technicians (EMTs). EMTs are categorized into three training and licensure levels: EMT-Basic, (EMT-B); EMT-Intermediate, (EMT-I); and EMT-Paramedic, (EMT-P). The difference between the licensure levels is the amount of education and training completed. An EMT-Basic has training in basic emergency care skills while an EMT-Paramedic has advanced training in specific aspects of advanced life support including IV therapy, pharmacology, cardiac monitoring and other advanced treatment skills. The EMT courses will cover a great deal of information and introduce many skills. Everything you learn will serve an important role in your ability to provide high-quality emergency care.
MMR's Educational Services offers state of the art EMS instruction in our new 6,000 square foot training center. Students participate in hands on learning exercises directed by our experienced instructors. Our instructors are all experienced field providers who bring their knowledge into the classroom. In addition, most of our instructors are ACLS, Trauma and Pediatric instructors as well.
MMR partners with multiple healthcare systems throughout Michigan to provide the highest quality clinical rotations for our students. With our diverse service area, MMR can provide students with a unique, well-rounded experience in pre-hospital medicine. Our goal is to train and educate pre-hospital providers that possess not only the highest quality skills but are also professional, highly motivated and passionate about their careers and their patients.
