MMR's Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART), Michigan's only private EMS based disaster team, was created out of our emergency response experience with Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
MMR determined that our own service area would benefit from a mobile response unit for larger scale emergency calls, thus DART.
DART is a mobile first aid station and command center that was purchased with funds raised at the MMR Golf Outing, Grants from the Saginaw Community Foundation and the Dow Corning Foundation. This wireless communications command center is generator powered with heat, A/C, and its own water system for all weather conditions. This totally self sufficient station is 34 feet in length, 13 feet high and 11 feet wide, with a slide out extender.
