Meet Our Instructors

The purpose and mission of our instructors is to further the MMR mission of providing our communities with unrivaled access to medical care. The first step is creating a solid foundation in the education of our emergency medical service providers.

 

Rick Holland, NREMT-P, I/C, EMS/Special Ops Training Coordinator - Mr. Holland has been in the EMS, Law Enforcement and HAZMAT industry for over 34 years and began his employment at MMR in 1995. He has over 30 years as a Paramedic working transport/non-transport ALS units, mobile intensive care units and for fixed wing/helicopter aeromedical units. Since 1981, Mr. Holland has been instructing all levels of EMS, primarily at the Specialist and Paramedic program levels. He has also taught at Delta College, Great Lakes Junior College and was the Director of the Great Lakes Emergency Services Institute. Mr. Holland is the course coordinator and chief instructor/trainer for a wide variety of specialty courses at MMR, which include; ACLS, PEPP, GEMS, AMLS, ATT, PHTLS, TCCC and ASLS, to name a few. Additionally, he has over 25 years of experience as a law enforcement trainer specializing in tactical medicine, medical counterterrorism, and HAZMAT/WMD response.

Bill Hall, NREMT-P, I/C - Mr. Hall has been working full-time in EMS since 1980. He became a paramedic in 1983 and came to the Saginaw area in 1986 working for Saginaw Mercy Ambulance, Mobile Medical Response and FlightCare Saginaw. He started teaching part-time in 1989, and then began a full-time teaching career in EMS in 2006.  Mr. Hall instructs programs as well as specialty courses, which include: ACLS, PHTLS, BCLS, GEMS and is also a Farm Medic.

Doug Lobsinger, EMT-P, I/C - Mr. Lobsinger currently teaches EMT programs in our Mt. Pleasant program. He has a degree in Fire Science, and has been a Paramedic since 1994, with over 20 years of experience in emergency services. Mr. Lobsinger became an instructor in 2008, and is also certified to teach ACLS, PHTLS, BLS, ATT, GEMS and PEPP. He believes in creating a learning environment centered on patient care, professionalism and treating your patient as a family member.

Chris Graham, EMT-P, I/C - Mr. Graham began his career with Sherwood Volunteer Fire and  Rescue in 1997 as a transport volunteer for BLS only service. He obtained his EMT license in 1998 and continued his education, while obtaining a Technical Certificate in Business Management at Ivy Tech State College in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2001. Mr. Graham obtained his Paramedic licensure in 2003 from James Rhodes State College. He's been working as a Paramedic since 2003 and began his employment with MMR in 2004. He is a Field Training Officer for new students and employees, and is a Dale Carnegie graduate. Mr. Graham has completed in training in Specialty Care Paramedic Response and is a licensed Instructor/Coordinator. He was part of the DART assistance team that responded to regional victims of Hurricane Rita.

Stephanie Scheib, EMT-P, I/C - Ms. Scheib began working at MMR in 2004, and has worked in EMS for over 20 years. She is an active member of the Society of Michigan EMS Instructor Coordinators and Michigan EMT Practictioners Association. She is a member of the PSRO and ALS Committee with the Saginaw Medical Control Authority. Ms. Scheib is certified with the American Heart Association, a certified instructor for Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, PEPP, PHTLS, GEMS and AMLS. She is a Field Training Officer and Specialty Care Transport Paramedic for MMR.  Ms. Scheib taught at the Michigan EMS Expo in 2009, coordinated the STEMI Study in Saginaw and Tuscola Counties,  and is currently working on a Business Degree with the University of Phoenix.

Matt Drake, NREMT-P, I/C - Mr. Drake has six years of EMS experience and is a Nationally Registered Paramedic and Instructor Coordinator. He also teaches BLS, ACLS, and PHTLS. Mr. Drake is a Field Training Officer and a Specialty Care Transport Paramedic.

Fred Clifford, EMT-P, I/C - Mr. Clifford graduated from the Lansing Community College Paramedic Program in 2006, and has been at MMR since 2007. He is a full-time Paramedic and Part-Time Instructor in the Education Department in Saginaw, teaching ACLS, PHTLS and BCLS. He also has experience teaching PEPP and GEMS, and heads up the Continuing Education courses in Saginaw.

Randy Duke, EMT-P, I/C - Mr. Duke began his career in EMS in 1979. Starting out as a Michigan State ambulance driver, he then moved to a hospital-based EMS service, and moved to MMR in 1998.  He has taught specialty courses such as Urban Search and Rescue and Water Rescue and Recovery. He currently teaches EMT and Paramedic programs as well as ACLS, ITLS, PHTLS and many continuing education courses at MMR.

Chris Wright, EMT-P - Mr. Wright has been with MMR since 2009 and received his EMT licensure in 2009 and Paramedic licensure in 2010. He received his Bachelor of Science from Central Michigan University in 2008, with an emphasis in education. He and Mr. Duke oversee the West Continuing Education courses. Mr. Wright is also the Extern Coordinator for the West division. He was also a member of the MMR Education Team that competed at EMS Expo, representing the west division, and  finished 3rd. He is currently pursuing his Instructor/Coordinator licensure.
