Responding to disaster – MMR’s Disaster Assistance Response Team or DART is Michigan’s only private EMS-based disaster response unit. MMR’s ability to rapidly deploy, along with its lifesaving medical technology and high-level command and control capabilities, gives the communities we serve a significant advantage should disaster strike.

DART was developed by MMR employees based on their experience during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. DART has been deployed to such disasters as Hurricanes Ike, Gustav and Sandy as well as the forest fires in Roscommon County and oil spill in the Kalamazoo area. DART is also on hand for large community events such as the WKCQ County Music Festival, National Night Out and the Mid-West Soccer Tournament in Saginaw Township.

DART is ready for deployment at a moment’s notice, deploying for disasters within the State within 2 hours and national emergencies within a 6 hours window.
