MMR Celebrates 20 Years in Service
Four reasons we are more than just your typical ambulance service
2014 marks our 20th anniversary of providing ambulance service and pre-hospital care. We have never been more proud to serve the mid-Michigan community.
From our highly skilled office employees to our compassionate EMS professionals to our expertly trained service mechanics, Mobile Medical Response is committed to best-in-class ambulance service. But there is more to Mobile Medical Response. With a fleet of over 100 vehicles, traveling more than 3 million miles annually, transporting over 90,000 patients per year to obtain the care they need, we are prepared to meet the demands of our customers. But still, there is more to Mobile Medical Response.
We work hard to be more than just your typical ambulance service. Here are four things that we believe help Mobile Medical Response stand apart from the rest:
A+ for education
Mobile Medical Response has a long-lasting history of providing patients with care, but did you know we also offer quality educational programs, open to the entire community? We offer training for Medical First Responders, Emergency Medical Technicians, paramedics, specialty care, staff continuing education, CPR and First Aid. We train approximately 250 EMS students each year and over 2,500 individuals annually in CPR. The primary training centers are located at our Saginaw and Mt. Pleasant facilities, however we do offer classes throughout their entire service areas. To learn more about our training classes and register online, click here.
We love our vehicles
Vehicle maintenance is done in-house by our Mobile Medical Response technicians and master mechanics. With a total of 7 master mechanics on the team, the ambulance vehicles are on a robust preventative maintenance schedule. A small trailer is also taken on the road to do routine oil changes and check-ups when needed. At Mobile Medical Response, our vehicles are on the road for up to 350,000 miles, thanks in large part to the TLC they receive from our fleet technicians and mechanics. While in-house service and maintenance of our vehicles may not seem like a big deal to everyone, we know that our ambulance fleet will always be ready to respond when crisis occurs.
DART-ing to disasters
The Disaster Assistance Response Team, also known as DART, is Michigan’s only private-based disaster response unit. Mobile Medical Response employees developed DART based on their experiences during Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita. DART has been deployed to several disasters, such as Superstorm Sandy, forest fires in Roscommon County, and the Enbridge oil spill. This team is ready for deployment as the need arises. DART is non-government funded and continue to serve as a resource for major disasters.
Have you heard about MMR Plus?
MMR Plus is a membership program designed to help with out-of-pocket expenses for ambulance transports. With increasing healthcare costs and additional expenses for consumers, we have created a program to help cover co-payments for transportation by ambulance. For only $49 annually, the membership will give you unlimited use throughout the year, coverage for your spouse and dependents living at home, and medical transports when medically needed. Mobile Medical Response is proud to serve mid-Michigan for the past 20 years, and will remain true to our mission—to provide our communities with unrivaled access to medical care—for the next 20 years and beyond. Thank you for allowing us to serve you.
