An overview of MMR's 7-week EMT course and its outcomes

In response to feedback from our paramedic students who were working full-time and attending school full-time, we have made the decision to increase the hourly wage of our EMT’s who are attending Paramedic school. This change will be in effect at the start of the first pay period following the start of our Fall 2020 Paramedic course.

Newly hired EMT’s are encouraged to register for the Fall 2020 Paramedic course as well. Requirements

  • Paramedic students MUST be MMR employees enrolled in Great Lakes Bay Consortium for EMS Education
  • Courses offered in Mount Pleasant and Saginaw
  • Paramedic students MUST maintain an average grade of 80% or higher
  • Grades to be submitted to HR at the end of each term
  • Paramedic students MUST attend free career counseling and financial planning
  • Scheduled during class time
  • Paramedic students MUST register for their written test and practical within 90 days of graduation to benefit from testing vouchers
  • At the time of graduation, dismissal, or drop-out, the Paramedic student’s wage will revert back to their EMT wage with annual wage increase taken into account

Paramedic Student Wage increase will automatically be in affect for the first full pay period beginning September 6, 2020

  • ALL current Paramedic students will benefit from the wage increase for the remaining duration of their respective paramedic programs
  • $14/hr wage is reserved for Paramedic students on the 48-hr schedule matrix
  • Paramedic students working the 56-hour matrix will be given an adjusted wage increase to $12.25/hr
